Young Wess, born in South-East Jamaica Queens, derives a charisma and style unique to successes in his struggle. As an emerging performing and writing producer he continues to educate himself in order to stay ahead of industry trends.
As a striving multi-media producer who dips in and out of music creation to directing commercial and video content, Wess loves the creative process and wouldn't trade it for anything. "An artist at best, a creator at most, at least a writer" is how he describes himself.
Wess collaborated with the extraordinary Jazz Pianist, Mark Adams, on a multi-genre smash single titled, "Fight the Good Fight". The song, listed at #2 on Wess' forthcoming album, "Journey" is also #2 on Mark's recent, "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" album. The two produced a classic fast-growing favorite combination of Jazz chords with a strong realistic hip-hop vibe. The song touches on todays important topics of police brutality and standing tall to fight for what's right.
Working alongside some of the best teachers in the industry, Wess added to his knowledge of writing and tracking, arrange, mixing and mastering music. Writing has always been a means of release for Young as it allows him the time and space to be creative. Recently adding to his skill set, Wess has been producing video content and working to perfect his process.
Young's musical genius stems from hours of studio time and recording sessions leading up to and recording at Red Room Recording Studio in Brookyln. He is a leading force behind York College' Cardinal Studios and frequently lends a helping hand to Viacom and various production companies under the umbrella. Life experiences, studies and passion projects are all a part of what motivates and keeps him going.
With a degree in Music Production from CUNY Queensborough Community College and a Communications Technology Batchelor from CUNY York College, Wess developed useful skills like sound design, mixing, digital story telling, and video editing. Witness as he simply combines his skills for well thought-out, dynamic recording with amazingly compelling aesthetics.
